अटल भूजल योजना


                  Atal Bhujal Yojana


This program implemented on the 95th birth anniversary of our former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. PM modi inaugurated it for the people India where is the ground water level is very low.

According to some data:-

1. 85% villages of India depend upon the ground water.
2. 50% urban people of India depend upon the ground water.
3. 65% irrigation requirement is fulfilled by ground water only.
4. 20% part of our India is suffering ground water crisis.

Prime minister has already started the "जल शक्ति मिशन" on the date of 15th august 2019 in his speech on this independence day.

Atal Bhujal Yojana has been implemented onlu for the fulfillment of the जल  शक्ति मिशन। 

In this scheme we include the 8350villages of 78 district of 7 states.

States:- Karnatak, Utter pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya                         Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra.

Targets:- 

1. To availability of drinking water to 15 crore families because at        present time only 3 crore families are in India where they get            drinking water through pipes in total 18 crore families in India.

2. Water in every house by 2024.

3. Improve water usage patterns.

4. Enhancing the role of gram panchayat in ground water                      management.

5. Preventing water wastage, better water conservation and                  equitable distribution.

                      
                          Jal Shakti Mission 
                           

 The Jal Shakti Mission was announced by the prime minister in his speech from the Red fort on 15th August 2019.

Slogan:- हर घर जल (Jal Jeevan Mission)

Targets:-

1. Making the mass data base public.

2. Assessing the impact of climate change on water resources.

3. Increase the share of citizens and the stage for water                          conservation, promotion and rescue.

4. Paying more attention to areas with greater water exploitation.

5. Increase the water utility efficiency by 20%.

6. Promote basin level and comprensive water resources                      management.

Other important information and facts about Atal Bhujal Yojana:-

Government claims on Atal Bhujal Yojana:-

1. The income of farmers will be double.

2. 8350 villages will benefit.

3. 78 district will be included of different states.

4. 6000 crores will be spent in 5 years.

5. Monitoring and extraction of ground water data will be                    maintained.

6. Education and communication for ground water conservation.

7. Water will be delivered to every household by 2024.

Importance of world bank in this scheme :-

The scheme has received approval from the world bank. In this project costing 6000 crores rupees 50% will be the govt. of India while half of the cost will be spent by the world bank.

The situation of Rajasthan:-
In 5 cities of the state, ground water is being exploited from 147 to 249 times in the recharge fry.  This includes Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Ajmer.  The 33 districts of the state are divided into 295 blocks.  Of these 184 blocks fall under the overridden category.  If the situation remains the same, more than half of the state's ground water can be depleted at any time.  There were 164 such blocks in the year 2013.  The area of ​​Rajasthan is 10.45 percent of that of India.  While the availability of ground water is only 1.75 percent.  Tubewells have been blamed for the indiscriminate exploitation of groundwater.


Rular Water Supply:-
Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation provides technical and financial assistance to the States to provide safe and adequate drinking water to rural India. The Department’s Centrally Sponsored Scheme, the National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP), currently focuses on providing access to drinking water to India's rural population. The Department is committed to providing household piped water supply to all rural households by 2024 with a focus on small scale, community managed schemes groundwater schemes wherever possible, with emphasis on source sustainability through groundwater recharge and wastewater reuse.
